Ministry leadership can be lonely at times. There’s a deep need to connect with others who truly understand the weight of leadership, the joys and challenges of ministry, and the unique ways God meets us in it all. Group spiritual direction provides a sacred space for ministry leaders to share their journeys, be heard, and pay attention to God’s presence together.
What is Group Spiritual Direction?
Group spiritual direction is different from a Bible study, accountability group, or therapy. It is not about “fixing” someone, problem-solving, or offering spiritual advice. It is a confidential space that helps participants pay attention and notice the invitations of God through contemplative listening and asking open-ended questions. Together, participants learn to notice how God is moving in their lives, to hold space for the questions and struggles of others, and to experience the grace of being known and loved in community. This practice of monthly group spiritual direction invites ministry leaders into a rhythm of mutual care. It’s a reminder that you’re not alone—that even in the wilderness, God is present, and others are journeying alongside you.
The Soul of the Shepherd online community offers access to a variety of soul care resources and the opportunity to connect with other leaders who would like to join in monthly group spiritual direction. These sessions are facilitated by a trained spiritual director, and there is a fee for group spiritual direction.
